The Anchor Transformation

The Anchor, a popular Restaurant and Pub in the coastal village of Pringle bay, begging for a face-lift, was given a new look, courtesy of a few enthusiastic resident volunteers. With some black paint and various eye catching travel photos from a local explorer, it was sure to make you double take as you pass!

The aesthetic transition was achieved mostly with the use of bold, impact creating black paint, making the case for a step into the dark and moody side – the ideal ambiance for this establishment.

Raiding the storeroom, a vintage bar door was repurposed as styling element, combining well with other dark timber features to amplify the sense of spaciousness.

A demarcated kids area was fashioned with sunny portraits of children from around the globe, instantly brightening up the darker space.

What I Had To Work With

“In 2019 Monica proposed a make-over in her typical solution-based way. That was the start of “The New Anchor Project”. Within days she and her team were on site and at work. A completely new Pub & Grill two days later! I couldn’t believe what she had achieved with a limited budget and resources! The end result has led to numerous, sterling compliments from our clients.

I want to take this opportunity to thank her from the bottom of my heart for the huge, stylish and beautiful contribution she has made. I could see that she enjoyed, not only the challenge, but the effective and creative changes that she had made – this will always stay with me. Let’s not even talk about her patience with us! I can recommend Monica and Tribay Home Styling & Holiday Hosting with absolute confidence – no matter the size or scope of the project.”
