The Fynbos Villa Transformation

This brother/sister collaboration project created the ultimate challenge to contemporize an out-of-date Canadian Log Home into a tasteful Holiday Home for the discerning traveler.

The use of monotone colours – white, grey and black – juxtaposed alongside a wood  cabin finish, creates a fascinating ambiance – contemporary yet classical.

Indeed a very inspiring project, as the many bespoke furniture and lifestyle pieces that made styling an absolute pleasure, was from the owner’s own design and manufacturing collection.

What I Had To Work With

Thanks to a fresh coat of paint and designer furnishings, this knotty pine house discarded its log cabin persona and became a sophisticated and contemporary holiday house.

The sweeping nature views persuaded the owners to look past the previously dark, dated interiors, snap up the house, and embark on an exciting reimagining journey. With its mostly grey and white colours and a striking black banner, the house is almost unrecognizable from the log cabin look of before.
